The Bieker 650 is being designed as the ultimate reasonable-to-sail boat under the New Zealand sportboat rule.  The design is a follow up to the successful “Helter Skelter” design which was created for the same owner (currently sailing around the world as one of the bowmen on Ericcson 4).  The addition of a rudder mounted hydrofoil should give her longer legs upwind and better safety downwind.
