Skeeter is a catamaran commuter designed and built by Russell Brown.  It uses surplus Tornado hulls for floats, carbon mast sections for struts and a lightweight plywood “pod” for habitation.  The boat is surprisingly dry and comfortable in choppy conditions.  Power is a 15hp 4 stroke outboard, which enables her to cruise at 15 knots with a consumption rate of 3.5 litres/hr and 12 knots at 1.9 litres/hr.  Short of using hydrofoils, it is hard to imagine a much more efficient type of craft for crossing water.
